Our Priorites

Building Inclusive and Resilient Communities for a Brighter Future

Our Funding Priorities Areas

Health and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR)

Health and SRHR are central to CAHED’s mission. The organization runs targeted interventions for adolescent girls and young women, promoting access to sexual and reproductive health services, education, and rights. These efforts address key issues such as HIV prevention, menstrual hygiene management, and family planning. CAHED also provides support for teenage mothers and children living with HIV, ensuring they receive antiretroviral therapy (ART) and psychosocial support to improve their quality of life.

Democracy, Governance, Digital rights and Gender Equality

Through advocacy and community engagement, CAHED empowers women and youth to actively participate in governance and decision-making processes. The organization’s initiatives strengthen civic education, promote inclusive democracy, and amplify the voices of marginalized groups. CAHED fosters gender equality by addressing harmful cultural practices, advocating for women’s leadership, and creating safe spaces for dialogue and action.

Food Security, Water, and Sanitation

CAHED addresses food insecurity by promoting sustainable agriculture practices and supporting smallholder farmers, particularly women and youth. Its water and sanitation programs focus on providing access to clean and safe water, enhancing hygiene education, and reducing waterborne diseases in public schools and local poor vulnerable communities. These efforts are integral to building resilient communities that can withstand the effects of climate change.

Climate Justice and Disaster Risk Management

As a key player in climate justice, CAHED integrates climate adaptation and mitigation strategies into its programs. By promoting sustainable natural resource management and community-based disaster risk reduction, the organization helps vulnerable populations adapt to and recover from climate-related shocks. CAHED’s advocacy for just transitions ensures that women and youth play an active role in creating climate solutions.

Education and Early Childhood Development

CAHED invests in education as a cornerstone for empowerment, particularly targeting young girls and vulnerable youth. The organization establishes and supports early childhood development (ECD) centers to provide foundational education and critical care for children. Scholarships and mentorship programs are designed to reduce barriers to access, enabling children—especially girls—to pursue their dreams. CAHED’s education initiatives integrate life skills and digital literacy, equipping youth with the competencies needed to thrive in the modern world.

Humanitarian Aid and Emergency Response

CAHED is committed to responding to humanitarian crises with agility and compassion. Its disaster response programs provide life-saving assistance to communities affected by natural disasters, conflicts, and other emergencies. This includes the provision of food, shelter, medical care, and psychosocial support and mental health well-being to displaced individuals and vulnerable families.
